The GOP tax reform/cuts finally passed the congress and was singed into law.  However, it failed to ignite the markets as some were expecting.  Perhaps some of the gains were offset in part by the end of the year tax adjustments selling!?  S&P500 manged to add 0.4% to reach yet another all time high.  Portfolio moved up by 0.6% last week.

The high tech stocks carnage which started two weeks ago slowed down a bit last week. In some cases they have recovered fully, Semiconductor stocks however are slow to recovery.  Portfolio heavy in semis lost 1.9% while S$P500 advanced by 0.4% to a new high.

Big volatility, especially in the tech stocks, comes back to the market resulting in a sell off in momentum stocks last week.  The portfolio is no exception.  It gets hit hard with 5.9% reduction :(  Mean time S&P500 enjoys a 1.5% increase into its all time high.

The portfolio would have had a great week if it wasn't for the "great rotation" which happened mid last Friday.  For no apparent reason, investors (probably their computers and fancy algorithms) decided to dump anything hi-tech and buy financials and energy related stocks. Nobody knows if this will continue into this week or it was just one day event.  We just have to wait and see.

"Trump trade" pushing industrial, transportation, defense, and financial stocks higher is in full force. However, many analysis expect a pull back not too distant in the future.  S&P500 rose 0.7% to close at all time high last week.  Portfolio moved up 1.3%.
